First Friday Art Walk

Join us in downtown Vancouver Friday, October 7th beginning at 5pm for this month’s First Friday Art Walk! Our downtown is home to a wide array of gallery spaces and art-centric businesses that are ready to welcome you. Ready to dance? The Ne Plus Ultra Jass Orchestra teams up with The Historic Trust to bring live music and dancing to Vancouver at the Providence Academy Ballroom at 7pm. Get spooked at the Clark County Historical Museum from 5pm to 8pm with a look at the odd, obscure, and down right creepy items from their collection in this month's special pop-up, "The Macabre." Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from 5 - 10pm at La Casita Art Gallery & Cultural Center with an all-women Night Art Show, Salsa Social, and a special live performance by Astrid Morales and Judy Chirino from the Portland Opera.

The Magenta Theater presents Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express" October 14th - 30th. Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The train is full, but by morning it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. The passengers must rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer.

Southwest Washington Wind Symphony Presents "Magical Moments"

After a 2½ year pandemic-related hiatus, the Southwest Washington Wind Symphony welcomes back its audience with a concert titled "Magical Moments" at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 16, at the Union High School Performing Arts Center. The program includes compositions inspired by unforgettable historic sounds and sights of everyday life including "The Klaxon" by Henry Fillmore, "Magnolia Star" by Steve Danyew, and "Cajun Folk Songs II" by Frank Ticheli. Concerts are free, open to the public, and performed at the Union High School Performing Arts Center located at 6201 NW Friberg-Strunk Street in Camas. Face masks will be required indoors.
