The initial plans to build a center for the arts began in 1967 by Vancouver residents. Several proposals have been put forth since then with in-depth studies and solid leadership.
In 2003 Val Ogden, a retired state legislator and former First Citizen of Vancouver joined the board. Known as a champion for the community, Val brought inspiration and a love of music to the organization. At this time the center for the arts achieved non profit status.
In 2018 newly revised plans to determine the best location and configuration have evolved through an energized board of directors.
