Supporting Arists

Friends and Artists,

As we embark on reconnecting and rebuilding, we are presented with a unique opportunity to reimagine new ways of supporting our local artists and arts organizations. In recent months we have reflected several ways in which the arts play a critical role in the recovery and vitality of our community. The work of artists, musicians, and creatives are essential to rekindling times of vibrancy and prosperity.

Even as we face these challenging times of uncertainty, the arts continue to bring a sense of togetherness, inspiration, and shared experiences. But the livelihoods of many of our own creative workers, artists, and performers has been put on hold. If we believe in supporting the arts, we need to start by collectively supporting artists. Though arts spaces and events are closed, here are a few ways we can support our art communities and artists:

  • Participate in an online class

  • Set up a commission with your favorite artist

  • If you are able, donate to the arts

  • Share resources, art, and events with your network

  • Buy artwork or albums directly from an artist online

  • Purchase art as a handmade gift

  • Attend exhibits and performances online

Together we can set the stage for a future where the arts are always growing and thriving. For more information about our mission, visit our website, or contact us at info@centerforartswwa.org. Onward and upward!

Sincerely,
The SWCA Team
