Dru-Holley-Spotlight

Friends and Artists,

Organizations can’t do great work without a great team. Starting this week, the Southwest Washington Center for the Arts will be featuring a few of our team members to celebrate the works they are doing out in the community.

Dru Holley, a film producer in the Portland-Vancouver metro area, joined the CFA board in fall of 2020. He is the senior producer at Black Bald Films, where he dedicates his work to socially conscious and racially just media. As an African American filmmaker, Dru wants to provide inspiring stories that empower re-thinking systems that are broken. Dru is adept at putting together collaborative creative teams that share his motivation to highlight the stories of people who have largely been ignored or overlooked by past histories and whose experiences in urgent social problems can shape the conversation to illuminate the truth of the past.

Dru is tuned to the direction of Black films and their future; he’s invested in learning just about every part of creating entertaining and informative media, from production assistant to producer/director. His goal is to focus on making great inspiring media; Dru believes that Vancouver needs a central place that is art-driven. A place where we can all gather together. Art is the glue that connects us all.

For more information about Dru’s work, visit his website! Thank you for helping us keep the arts accessible, thought-provoking, and vibrant. Together we can set the stage for a future where the arts are always growing and thriving for everyone. Keep up the good work…stay cool out there!

Sincerely,
The CFA Team
