Soul! Jazz Concert at Kiggins Theatre May 17
March, 20 2023

The sultry and soulful Shelly Rudolph takes the stage at the Kiggins Theatre May 17th at 6pm for “Soul!” - a special concert to benefit the SWWA Center for the Arts’ “Uplift!” children’s project. Shelly will be joined by Jazz innovator, pianist Tom Grant, along with guitarist Dan Gildea, saxophonist Renato Caranto, bassist Bill Athens, Edwin Coleman III on drums, and Paul Mazzio on trumpet. Aerialist Rebecca Palmer with Aerial Muse Collective will accompany Ms. Rudolph with a special choreographed performance.
Shelly Rudolph’s projects have embraced soul, jazz, blues, R&B, reggae and pop. She has performed all over the world with ensembles that range from intimate duets to Jazz orchestras and most everything in between. She is currently among the busiest vocalists in Portland, Oregon performing with her own projects as well as with Tom Grant, who is an icon on the Jazz scene. Tom works tirelessly for many charities. Over the past thirty years, his music has been a staple of homegrown giving for several non-profits. He was one of the original pianists of the Ten Grands concerts in Portland and Seattle, an annual event supporting music education.
“Soul!” is one of several musical events created for the SWWA Center for the Arts’ “Arts for a Cause” initiative. Proceeds from this concert fund the “Uplift!” children’s project, a special day of giving for Clark County children experiencing circumstantial hardship. "Uplift!" provides tangible resources while offering interactive art and music experiences.
