Reflections

Friends and Artists

Earlier this year, we asked our followers to share why the arts are vital to our community and how the arts have enriched your own experience - and we were so inspired by your thoughtful responses. This week, we'd like to take a moment to highlight a few words from our audience that reflect why we do what we do. A HUGE thank you to everyone who shared your thoughts with us!

  • "Why is this important to our community here in Vancouver, WA? Art is a vital part of being human. Art and the exercise of creating, or enjoying through viewing others' art, is essential to a person's fulfillment of self. It makes happy people!"

    -Gregory

  • "Art revives and inspires us. Whether you are the creator or the spectator, art washes over you and brings you a moment of authentic feeling that drives away the clutter of everyday life. It is my stress relief, my self-care, my passion."

    -Becky

  • "I could indeed write a book about what the arts mean to me and why they're vital to any community. An additional motivation for me to weigh in on the importance of building an Arts Center in this community is that I was blessed to have worked with Val Ogden, who pioneered the project about the time we entered the 21st century." -

    -Norman

  • "Our humanity is revealed when we expose our true feelings and express our true aspirations. It is art that guides the process of exposing our humanity to the world."

    -Gregory

  • "When the arts are celebrated in a region, the past embraces the future. Our community will be defined by our dedication to culture."

    - Jeannie

In the coming weeks we will continue to engage our readers for your thoughts, feedback, and inspiration for this wonderful vision. This journey is only made possible with the support and participation from readers like you! Together we can set the stage for a future where the arts are always growing and thriving.
