Hustling for the Holidays

December, 2 2021

Hello December

Friends and Artists,

With the new season, we're shining the spotlight on the makers, craftspeople, and culinary artisans that keep our communities vibrant and our local economy flowing. Here are a few simple ways we can show appreciation and support for our friends in small business, while getting a heads start on the holiday shopping!

  • Shop small online - Many small businesses are accessible online and already have a virtual storefront! Consider the small players before automatically purchasing from larger companies.

  • Buy gift certificates and refer a friend - Consider purchasing a gift certificate that you can use later, or can gift to a friend or family member. This expands their customer base for the future while providing immediate income.

  • Dine out, or order for takeout and delivery - For many restaurants, this has become a primary source of income. Order online or over the phone, and remember to tip well!

  • Boost small businesses on social media - The most valuable advertising for small businesses is word of mouth. Give shoutouts and positive reviews generously to help with engagement, which will lead to more visibility and sales.

  • Be patient and kind - Remember, with the holiday rush comes a busier season for small businesses and their teams. Be an understanding customer; a little empathy can go a long way!

And with that, we wish you a happy December as 2021 comes to a close. Thank you for helping us keep the arts accessible, thought-provoking and vibrant. Together we can set the stage for a future where the arts are always growing and thriving for everyone.

Sincerely,
The CFA Team
